Whether for an hour, an afternoon, or the entire day, renting bikes is a fantastic way to explore a city (particularly in the summer). Located in Alton, Illinois, about 40 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri, the 35-kilometer Sam Vadalabene Great River Road Bike Trail meanders alongside the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers and through Pere Marquette State Park.

The Little Miami Scenic Trail and the 2,300-kilometer Buckeye Trail, which circles the state starting near Cleveland and passing through the picturesque Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Hocking Hills region, are just two of the wonderful places to go riding in Ohio.cycling

Cyclocross races in the USA

Additionally, there are an increasing number of bike events in the USA. Such as the annual Ozark Mountain Bike Fest in April in West Fork, Arkansas. It takes place on the challenging trails of Devil’s Den State Park. The Tour of the Gila in Silver City, New Mexico (check out the Criterium – the race’s best day for spectators). The Black Hills Fat Tyre Festival (near Mount Rushmore in South Dakota), the Wilmington Grand Prix in Delaware. The AMGEN Tour of California (an 8-day race and the most significant in the USA), and the Black Hills Fat Tyre Festival all take place in May.

The Tour of Lawrence, Kansas, and Crested Butte Bike Week in Colorado takes place each June. RAGBRAI, the oldest, largest, and longest recreational bicycle touring event in the world, draws thousands of participants from throughout the USA. And abroad, and by July, it’s all the rage in Iowa. The Seattle to Portland Classic takes place in July as well. The Vermont Challenge occurs in August, while the Jamestown Classic takes place in Rhode Island in October. The challenges are all enjoyable to participate in.
