Children while schooling can cultivate their natural curiosity for all things related to space at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, through simulators, practical experiments, and training from professionals, including real astronauts!
Huntsville (Alabama), the Hub of Space Exploration
Rockets that took humans to the moon were made in Huntsville. It is a typical Southeastern American city that is renowned for its charm and history. The largest spaceflight museum in the world is located at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, which also serves as the visitor center for the Marshall Space Flight Center of NASA. It includes Explorer I, the first American satellite, among its more than 1,500 artifacts.
Space Camp creates interest in space travel among aspiring astronauts while including STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) techniques for learning practically. When children come to participate in Space Camp join a notable alumni network of 750,000 campers from 120 countries, which includes 10 real astronauts.
What Aspiring Astronauts Can Expect
On Sunday, when these kids go camping, they start an amazing schedule of learning which includes everything from flight and astronaut training simulators to the history of exploration of space. By creating a model rocket and creating a Mars colony, they will gain practical engineering and experience in technology.
Campers will also have a “Mars-to-table” lunch that is made out of ingredients grown in aeroponic gardens, these are similar to the ones NASA is doing a study for growing food in space. There are camp-wide challenges also along the way with gifts for the best deserving teams and individuals. When the camp is up on Friday, the aspiring engineers and astronauts will be leaving.
Adventure for All Ages, Choose Your Own!
Space Camp is just not made for kids, there are available for educators, adults, and families, too! The U.S. Space & Rocket Center has made a lot of camps to assist a range of ages and interests. Visitors that come to the flagship Space Camp learn about the history of spaceflight and astronaut training techniques while exploring job opportunities in the field of aerospace and STEM fields.
